WELLHEALTH CLINIC
compassion care is access to care
A NONPROFIT MENTAL HEALTH ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO DELIVERING MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT, TRAINING & SUICIDE PREVENTION
We are dedicated to bringing professional mental health services directly into schools offering in-school mental health services for kids, reducing barriers to access to care.
Supporting one school at a time. Positively impacting one child at a time.
Lighthouse Wellhealth (d.b.a. Wellhealth Clinic) is dedicated to advancing positive mental health among youths and teens through a multi-discipline approach incorporating prevention, psycho-education, training, and treatment.
Our origin began in 2022 when we came to realization that our youth's mental health continues to worsen. At that time, we began to receive a larger than usual referrals from CUSD to our main organization (Lighthouse Psychiatry) to care for students struggling with youth suicide cases, one after another. We felt like more needed to be done. We need to start thinking about combining prevention with intervention and education with training. Hence, Wellhealth was born to fulfill our vision of bringing professional mental health services directly to the at-risk students in schools. We believed we needed to capture the needs of students sooner.

A major challenge of mental health work is how can we, as a community, offer a success model inclusive of education, prevention, crisis intervention, treatment, and remission. There needs to be efforts that can address "successful" mental health management. Often times, crisis or suicide prevention may aid in keeping an individual from harm, at least for a short period of time. Then, the person really needs to be connected to a treatment provider to truly facilitate a path forward toward recovery and remission. Unfortunately, too often the person does not successfully connect with treatment services and the person becomes in crisis again. This is a vicious and heart-breaking cycle, especially if the person is successful in self-harm. Hence, Wellhealth was created to function as a "bridge" that can string together all the different aspects of mental health management, from prevention to remission, maximizing the ability to safeguard against repeated crisis. Through a compassion care delivery model, we strive to bridge care from prevention to remission through effective treatment planning and implementation.
Our mission and roadmap to successful prevention to remission includes:
-
Minimize barriers for kids, adolescents, and teens to receive mental health care.
-
Advancement of mental health psychoeducation on suicide prevention, awareness, and treatment.
-
Establish a true continuity of care model, from prevent to treatment.
-
Provide trauma training for clinical and non-clinical professionals and community members to triage and treat suicide risk.
-
Establishment of a Trauma-focused Center and resource to address PTSD, from awareness to treatment.
-
Support veteran and military families in need of mental health support through access to better care delivery options.
